Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

LatLong Finder (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website latlongfinder.net. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Location data:If you click “Use My Location”, your browser will prompt you for permission. We only access your device's GPS coordinates at that moment to center the map. This data is not stored on our servers.

Search queries: When you search for an address or place name, the query is forwarded to the Nominatim geocoding service (operated by OpenStreetMap) to return coordinates. We do not log or store your search queries.

Usage data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized data about how visitors interact with the site (pages visited, session duration, browser type, approximate geographic region). This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.

2. Cookies

We use the following cookies on this site:

  • Google Analytics (_ga, _gid): These cookies help us understand how visitors use the site. They do not collect personally identifiable information.
  • Google AdSense: We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out via Google's Ads Settings.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may affect site functionality.

3. Third-Party Services

LatLong Finder integrates the following third-party services:

  • OpenStreetMap & Nominatim: Map tiles and geocoding are provided by OpenStreetMap contributors and the Nominatim API. See the OpenStreetMap Privacy Policy.
  • Leaflet: The interactive map is powered by the open-source Leaflet library. No data is sent to Leaflet servers.
  • Google Analytics: Anonymized usage analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google AdSense: Advertising served by Google. See Google's Advertising Policies.

4. Data Retention

We do not store personal data on our servers. Aggregated analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for up to 26 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

5. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you have certain rights regarding your personal data:

  • The right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
  • The right to object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • The right to data portability.
  • California residents have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

Because we do not collect or store personal data beyond what third-party analytics services receive, most requests should be directed to those services directly. For questions about your rights, contact us at privacy@latlongfinder.net.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
