Richer city pages, batch conversion, and transparency pages
- City pages now include computed geographic facts: distances and directions to nearby cities, sunrise/sunset and day length for the current date, UTC offset, and the antipode point.
- New batch coordinate converter: paste a list of coordinates in mixed formats and export them as GPX waypoints, KML placemarks, or CSV.
- Added this changelog and a methodology page documenting every data source and algorithm the site uses.
- Rewrote the About page to describe who runs the site and how it is maintained.
Stricter quality bar for indexed city pages
- Only city pages with substantive content or demonstrated search demand are now submitted to search engines; thin pages remain browsable but are excluded from indexing.
- This replaced an earlier population-based cutoff introduced on 2026-07-25.
Elevation finder, Where Am I, and page-title rework
- New elevation finder backed by the Google Elevation API.
- New "Where am I" tool showing your current coordinates in every format.
- Rewrote coordinate page titles and descriptions to be clearer in search results.
- Added social preview images and baseline security headers.
Distance & midpoint calculators; tools hub
- New distance calculator (great-circle distance, bearing, and midpoint between two points) and midpoint calculator.
- New tools hub page collecting every calculator in one place.
Coordinate converter
- New converter between decimal degrees, DMS, DDM, UTM, Geohash, and Plus Code, with support for pasting Google Maps links.
Ended automated daily content generation
- Permanently halted the automated daily rewriting of coordinate pages, homepage sections, and meta descriptions, along with bulk URL submissions to search engines.
- Page content changes are now deliberate and recorded here.
