How to Find GPS Coordinates for Any Location

Learn how to find GPS coordinates using LatLong Finder. Search by address, click on a map, or use your device's location to get precise latitude and longitude.

Search by Address or Place Name

Type an address, city name, or landmark into the search box at the top of LatLong Finder. Select a result from the dropdown to place a marker on the map. The latitude and longitude will appear in the panel below the search bar. You can copy the coordinates in decimal or DMS format.

Click on the Map

Click anywhere on the map to drop a marker at that point. LatLong Finder will show the latitude and longitude immediately and attempt to reverse-geocode the nearest address. You can drag the marker to fine-tune the position.

Use Your Current Location

Click the location button (the crosshair icon next to the search bar) to use your device's GPS. LatLong Finder will request permission, detect your position, and place a marker at your coordinates. This works on both desktop and mobile browsers.

Understanding Coordinate Formats

GPS coordinates can be expressed in two common formats. Decimal degrees (e.g., 48.8566, 2.3522) are compact and widely used in software. Degrees, minutes, seconds or DMS (e.g., 48° 51' 23.8" N, 2° 21' 7.9" E) are traditional and common on printed maps. LatLong Finder supports both formats and lets you switch between them with one click.
